Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) is the fastest growing sport in the country
and has spawned new interest in all forms of martial arts. New gyms
and training centers are opening everyday, and new athletes are
constantly getting involved.
We represent a multitude of styles and techniques, which include well
established as well as the up and coming fighters.
The popularity of MMA?s top organizations, UFC and the IFL, have
made it possible for regional organizations to produce high quality
shows. EFL prides itself on having high quality shows. Our fighters
provide the same type of crowd pleasing performances. We are providing
a vehicle to help move our fighters up the ranks.
EFL encourages and participates in collaborative efforts with other
regional MMA promoters. We believe those collaborative efforts are
needed to deliver the best entertainment value to our most important
resource, our fans.
The sport of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) combines fighting techniques
from various martial arts disciplines ? primarily Boxing, Muay Thai
Kickboxing, Wrestling, and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Fighters face off in a
boxing ring or caged area, and fight until a winner is decided.
The sport, while controversial, has grown tremendous lengths.
Originally viewed by most as nothing more than barbaric street fights,
the sport is now widely viewed as a legit sport, and is sanctioned by
athletic commissions in many states. Competitors train vigorously in
martial arts. Many are former Olympic wrestlers or golden glove
boxers, wishing to use their skill in an environment and make a living
doing so. MMA pay per views typically receive higher television
ratings than all but the top name boxing events. Like it or not, Mixed
Martial Arts is here to stay.
